Admissions
Steam trains through rolling countryside, with views out to wild moorland and the rugged coastline.
Intending passengers can purchase tickets online in advance or just turn up and ride on the day and purchase tickets from the station shop on the day you visit.
Tickets bought online are fully open tickets and can be used on the day you choose to visit (during busy periods you may have to wait for the next available train departure to get a seat).
Our first class compartments can accommodate a maximum of up to six passengers per compartment (Please note, no dogs allowed in first class compartments). First class supplement tickets are valid for one journey per passenger on the day you visit but your 3rd class ticket is valid for all train travel during that day.
We are a dog friendly railway, well behaved dogs and their owners are more than welcome to visit the station and travel on the train. In addition, dogs travel for FREE provided that their owners have purchased a ticket and other passengers do not object. Please be aware dogs are not allowed in our 1st Class compartments.
Online tickets are valid for all standard operating days but do exclude some special event days and weekends. For our special events you will need to purchase an events ticket for example our Autumn Gala (28th and 29th of September). Please see the timetable before visiting for further details and clarification.
