Intending passengers can purchase tickets online in advance or just turn up and ride on the day and purchase tickets from the station shop on the day you visit.

Tickets bought online are valid for the day you've booked for and are valid all day so you may be able to take part in mulitple services. (During busy periods you may have to wait for the next available train departure to get a seat).

First Class Upgrade: Travel in style and upgrade to our first class seating, these tickets are available on the day from our station shop on a first come first served basis. Priced at £3.50 per person/seat, children under the age of 2 who will be sat on a lap do not require to pay the supplement. Please ensure you have purchased a standard travel ticket aswell. 

Please be aware you are booking a seat not a compartment and may have to share with other passengers.

First class supplement tickets are valid for one journey per passenger on the day you visit but your 3rd class ticket is valid for all train travel during that day.

We are a dog friendly railway, well behaved dogs and their owners are more than welcome to visit the station and travel on the train. In addition, dogs travel for FREE provided that their owners have purchased a ticket and other passengers do not object. Please be aware dogs are not allowed in our 1st Class compartments.

Ever wondered what it’s like to stand where the action happens? Join the crew on the footplate for a short ride and see the railway from the driver’s perspective. A rare chance to get up close to the steam locomotive in action.

Footplate rides will be part of our standard service timetable and include a return journey from Woody Bay Station to Killington Lane approximately 20 minutes. Due to the size of the engine there will be one footplate passenger for each service. Pre-booking is recommended as it will be available on a first come first served basis.
