Quiet Santa Special Saturday the 6th of December
At the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway, we understand that festive events can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming for both children and adults. That’s why, for the first time this Christmas season, we’re excited to offer a new experience designed especially for those who would enjoy the magic of the festivities in a calmer, quieter setting.
Our Special Quiet Santa trains, which will run on Saturday the 6th December. Train services for this day will be of a lower capacity (meaning more space onboard and less crowds) and will be tailored to make this a sensory-friendly experience for all.
Since spaces for these services are limited pre-booking is recommended to avoid disappointment, tickets will not be available on the day.
To pre-book select the day and time you would like to travel.
The following train times will be available from Woody Bay Station to Killington Lane return on all days of this event.
10.45am - 11.30 - 12.15 - 13.30 - 14.15 - 15.00.
2 mile return journey (approximately 20 minutes experience)
On the 23rd and 24th of December we will be running an extra 4pm train, but only on these two days.
First Class Upgrade
Upgrade on the day and travel in style and comfort in one of our 1st class compartments. You can purchase your upgrade on the day from our Station shop. This available on a first come first serve basis and cannot be pre-booked.
£3.50 per person (valid for one return trip)
Accessibility
Our trains can accommodate standard (non motorised) transit wheelchairs and our staff are always on hand to provide assistance. We have a wheelchair accessible compartment which can accommodate one wheelchair per train. With this there is access via the guards van which has a ramp available for use. Please be aware there are some size restrictions with the ramp. Ramp size restrictions: Width 700 millimetres and weight 300 kilograms.
